On your schedule. At your pace. Designed to fit your needs.
If you can't attend my "Think on Your Feet Mastery" class series because:
Then personalized, one-on-one phone coaching may be perfect for you. It allows you to learn the same skills students gain in my classes—and even extra skills that they don't. Plus, you can learn from any place, at any time. If you wish, you can learn while you sit on your couch in your pajamas!
There are a number of benefits to coaching:
In fact, coaching is so valuable that some people both take my classes and do coaching with me at the same time, so they can make the fastest progress possible. It's a way to supercharge their learning.
Which brings us to an obvious question...
Students come to me for a wide variety of reasons. For example, you may be here because:
All of these problems can cripple you and suck the joy out of your life. And it can be hard to overcome them. In fact, I've heard students say it took them an entire year to get up the courage to sign up for my classes.
That's why I've found and designed strategies to help you with all of these issues—no matter how much you currently struggle. By learning effective strategies and practicing them in fun ways, you can begin to enjoy things you used to hate, and succeed in areas where you used to fail.
These strategies and skills allow you to...
If any of that is appealing to you, then read on to learn more.
Personalized coaching is just that... personalized. It's different for each person based on their goals and what they need to learn. But here are the basics of how it works.
First, you'll let me know what it is you want. Conversation skills? Presentation skills? Creativity? All of it?
You'll also let me know what challenges you have. Does your mind go blank? Do you ramble? Do people lose interest when you talk but you don't know why?
Based on what you tell me, I'll create a game plan for how we'll get you to your goals. As I work with you, I'll discover your strengths and weaknesses and adapt our sessions to meet your needs.
In each session, I'll teach you various skills and strategies. After I describe them to you, I'll guide you through how to use them with simple games and exercises. For example, I might teach you a strategy for building suspense while telling stories, then have you practice it while making up a story. This not only allows you to practice the strategy, it allows you to build your creative muscles, practice thinking on your feet, and have a lot of fun.
The exercises we do will start off easier and build in challenge as your skills advance. By the end of your series of coaching sessions, you'll be shocked by how much progress you've made.
It surprises some people that we can do coaching effectively over the phone. I've had students who worried at first that it couldn't work. "Don't you need to see me? Shouldn't we meet in person? Or do video chat?" Luckily, they've trusted me and found that the phone is perfect for coaching.
Of course, there are a few things you can only work on in person. And eye contact and hand gestures do matter. But they are rarely the most important things to work on. And there's only so much you can do with them anyway. Luckily, you can work on the majority of nonverbal communication skills over the phone, such as your voice tone, use of pauses, and energy level—which for most people are the most beneficial.
Plus, you might be surprised by what your voice conveys. I've told students over the phone, "You're sitting down and not moving your body at all. Stand up and gesture excitedly while you talk." And I've told them, "You're not smiling and you're very tense. Start again, but take a deep breathe, relax, and smile before you start talking." It's not that I'm psychic—those things come across in their voice. That's why, if it's important, I'll usually hear it.
Here are a few of the key reasons phone coaching works so well.
For these reasons and more, I've found the phone is virtually always the best way to do coaching.

Become a better storyteller...
“I was at a big transition point in my life, and I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do next. I decided that I wanted to become a better story teller, but I had no idea where to start. I really knew nothing about storytelling, just that I had a lot of stories that I wanted to share...
"Chad worked with me from the ground up on structure and components of a story, story telling exercises to improve specific aspects of my stories, and numerous ways to make each story come alive. I feel like I am improving with each lesson, and it has been a tremendous amount of fun! His expertise has been priceless.”

"I was invited to facilitate a three-day event for a large group at one of my key clients, which is a Fortune 100 company. I worried my comfort level with mid-size groups would not translate to an audience of this extent. I wanted to keep the personal touch, remain present for all and keep the energy level high. I was hoping to relax, get out of my head and have fun, so I signed up for coaching with Chad.
"He pushed my limits while respecting my authentic style. Chad is a great listener and observer, and he gives actionable feedback. His easygoing and encouraging approach helps risk taking and just experimenting. As a result of his work I had good reviews all around. They told me I was personable and easy to connect with."
Coach and Consultant
It's really simple to get started. Just sign up for one of the two programs below.
Most people sign up for the eight-lesson package. If you do one session per week, it's a two-month course. And if you do two sessions per week, you can complete it in just one month. Either way, it gives us time to make major progress toward your goals.
There's also a smaller package of lessons if you have a smaller goal or just want to dip your toe into the coaching waters to start.
After you sign up, I'll email you to find out about your goals and schedule our first session. Once we do that, buckle your seat belt and get ready for an exciting ride.
It takes courage to say, "Now's the time to overcome my limitations and gain the skills I need." I understand that. I've worked with a lot of people who doubted they could change. Who feared looking foolish. Who felt stuck.
Stretching your comfort zone is always scary. But it's also always worth it.
It's worth it when you speak to an audience and realize you're enjoying yourself... It's worth it when you meet a stranger at a party and form such a strong connection that you talk with them for hours... It's worth it when your negative self-talk quiets down and you get to enjoy a feeling of peace and self-confidence...
And it all starts by having the guts to say, "Now's the time."
